Job summary

SMS Data Products Group seeks an experienced AFCENT NOSC Lead Engineer to provide senior technical leadership for enterprise network and server services across the AFCENT mission environment. You will guide teams operating Active Directory, messaging, DNS, storage, databases, virtualization, patch management and security tooling for CONUS/OCONUS deployments.

Qualifications

• BS in related field and 5+ years relevant IT experience preferred or 7+ years relevant IT experience.
• Firewall Unix/Linux and HBSS experience.
• Knowledge of what constitutes a threat to a network.
• Must possess experience with installation of Microsoft Windows Server in Host and Compute Environments and Windows Server using server images.
• Experience with storage solutions, DNS, DHCP, network connectivity, and remote access solutions; core and distributed network solutions; advanced network infrastructure; and maintaining server environments.
• Must demonstrate understanding with managing Microsoft users and permissions, creating AD DS forests, designing server infrastructure, troubleshooting, protecting network and user data.
• Certifications in ITIL Foundation and networking (CCNA) considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership for enterprise network and server related services.
• Oversee OS AD, Messaging, DNS, Storage, DB, Virtualization, and patch management systems.
• Analyze network performance and identify trends to improve reliability and security.
• Develop reports and trend analysis on bandwidth and network security incidents.
• Manage DoD network intrusion devices and information assurance tools including CA and VPNs.
• Develop IT systems concepts of operations and engineering plans.
• Provide general IT management and LAN/WAN enterprise support.
• Support O&M and documentation, meetings, and briefings.

Job Responsibilities

• Support and integrate new and existing OS AD Messaging DNS Storage DB and other server relatedfuture services
• Provide technical direction and management oversight for Enterprise Database Administrator Boundary Systems Enterprise Patch Management Systems Directory Services Systems and Storage and Virtualization Systems engineeringtechnical staff
• Analyze a wide array of networking metrics and recognize substandard network performance
• Develop reports and trend analysis documentation on bandwidth and network security incidents
• Make expert decisions and recommendations on how to resolve improve or prevent network problemsissues
• Manage network intrusion devices specific to the Department of Defense as well as many commercial information assurance tools to include Certification Authority CA and a variety of Virtual Private Networks VPNs both software and hardware
• Develop and update IT systems concept of operations and engineering plans
• Provide General IT Management support
• Provide General Networking LAN WAN enterprise support
• Provide general O&M support as required
• Provide documentationreports support as required
• Provide meetingsbriefings support as required
• Provide functional training support as required
• Provide CONUSOCONUS deploymentTDY travel support as required

Required Qualifications

• Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with managing Microsoft users and permissions creating active directory domain services AD DS forests designing server infrastructure troubleshooting protecting network and user data

Certifications Required

• VCTA or VMWare experience
• CCNA or Network ITIL Foundation candidate has up to 60 days to acquire ITIL Foundation certification
