REVIVE MEDICAL SPA

We are seeking a licensed and experienced Medical Esthetician to join our growing medical spa full-time. The ideal candidate is passionate about skincare, knowledgeable in advanced esthetic treatments, and committed to providing exceptional client care. Department: Revive Medical Spa

Reports To: Medical Spa Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: This individual will be responsible for evaluating the skin care concerns of clients, conferring with the medical director as applicable to develop the best treatment plan, provided education on treatment options, and to perform tasks and procedures to improve their clients’ skin. This may include, but is not limited to performing facials, chemical peels, microderm abrasion, microneedling, laser therapies, waxing and make-up. The Esthetician will be required to conduct patient analysis and consultations to determine best treatments for the clients desired outcome and create a customized treatment plan.

Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.

  • Conduct consultations with patients to evaluate clients’ skin condition and appearance, and determine best treatments for their desired outcome and create a customized treatment plan, to include skincare recommendations and cross referrals to other medical spa providers as appropriate. Recommend home care regimes for skin, nail and hair care and attempt to sell products.
  • Prepare clients’ skin for treatments to be performed.
  • Removing unwanted hair, using laser or wax treatments.
  • Perform simple extractions to remove blackheads.
  • Use specialized peels or masks to maintain and improve the appearance of facial skin.
  • Demonstrate and educate client on how to clean and care for skin.
  • Refer clients to medical professionals if concerns noted to clients skin or adverse reactions occur during a treatment.
  • Greets patients, visitors and colleagues in a courteous manner.
  • Checks schedules and organizes patient flow.
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all spa services performed/products, as well as pre and post procedure care for all services.
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.
  • Meet/exceed personal sales goals.
  • Perform room prep, and properly clean and restock room as required.
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, and skincare, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by clients.
  • Regularly attend, and participate in all training and staff meetings.
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical record documentation of consultations, treatments, and product recommendations.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work toward continuous quality improvement.
  • Stay current with changing technology, including software and industry specific programs
  • Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures
  • Participate in collaboration with other team members to promote continuity of care, including cross referring to other spa providers.
  • Actively participate in all Social Media, marketing, and brand management of Revive to promote services, treatments, products, and other providers.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.

Education/Experience

  • Diploma from a board licensed cosmetology school verifying completion of 600 hours of education, or completion of a course of study that meets the requirements of Iowa Administrative Code 645--61.14(157)
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training
  • Knowledge in the operation of computers, Microsoft office and email

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Current Board of Cosmetology Licensure
  • CPR/First Aid Certification, preferred but not required
  • Driver’s license and acceptable driving record
