Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an Engineering Technician in Arlington, TX to support aircraft wiring, cable fabrication, and test operations. You will fabricate cables, crimp/assemble connectors, and troubleshoot lab systems to ensure reliable, safe performance throughout development and testing.

This full-time consultant role (9-month) offers a 6:00 AM–3:30 PM first shift, Monday–Friday, with a 9/80 schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years of technical industry experience.
• Crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft standards.
• Solder in accordance with J-STD requirements.
• Strong understanding of aircraft wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings and assembly documentation.
• Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, wiring repair, and fault isolation.
• Experience with aerospace communication interface wiring systems.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in confined spaces.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
• Familiarity with ESD and FOD prevention.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate interconnecting cables and wiring harnesses from engineering drawings.
• Crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to industry standards.
• Perform soldering per J-STD requirements.
• Interpret aircraft wiring diagrams, schematics, and documentation.
• Read mechanical drawings for fabrication projects.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain test benches and lab equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and test equipment to isolate wiring issues.
• Install and support interfaces such as ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS422/RS232, Ethernet.
• Install fiber optic cabling for reflective memory hardware.
• Adhere to ESD and FOD control procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers and test teams to meet project objectives.
