Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial, in Arlington, TX, is seeking an Engineering Technician to support aircraft wiring systems, cable assemblies, and test equipment in a hands-on, lab-oriented environment. You will fabricate cables, crimp connectors, solder to J-STD, read wiring diagrams, troubleshoot and maintain test benches, and collaborate with engineers on aerospace programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of technical industry experience.
• Ability to crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft standards.
• Ability to solder in accordance with J-STD requirements.
• Strong understanding of aircraft wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and assembly documentation.
• Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, wiring repair, and fault isolation techniques.
• Experience with aerospace and communication interface wiring systems.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate interconnecting cables and wiring harnesses using engineering drawings and specifications.
• Crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft industry standards.
• Perform soldering in accordance with J-STD requirements.
• Interpret aircraft wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Read mechanical drawings and assembly diagrams for fabrication projects.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain test bench and laboratory infrastructure equipment.
• Utilize diagnostic tools to isolate and resolve wiring and system issues.
• Install and support interfaces such as ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS422, RS232, Ethernet, IEEE-488.
• Install and support fiber optic cabling for reflective memory hardware systems.
• Follow ESD and FOD control procedures, collaborate with engineers and test teams.
