Job summary

GMRE is seeking an Apprentice Production Technician in Ogden, UT to learn wiring harness fabrication and modification-kit assembly under guidance from skilled technicians. Qualifications

• Follow written procedures, work instructions, and verbal direction.
• Mechanical aptitude with willingness to learn aerospace wiring harness production.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive, precision work.
• Ability to use basic hand tools safely and with accuracy.
• Basic math, measurement, reading, and record-keeping skills.
• Distinguish wire colors, markings, and small components.
• Cooperate with trainers and teammates to meet quality goals.
• Learn GMRE COMS and related production software.

Responsibilities

• Participate in classroom, demonstration, and hands-on training.
• Review engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and BOMs with a trainer.
• Perform basic wire-preparation and routing per instructions.
• Assemble harnesses meeting workmanship criteria under supervision.
• Assist with connector and backshell assemblies after authorization.
• Perform crimping, soldering, and testing after training and authorization.
• Assemble modification-kit contents per BOMs and instructions.
• Verify part numbers, quantities, and material condition; report shortages or discrepancies.
• Use only approved tools; complete pre-use checks and tool calibration.
• Inspect finished work and seek verification from trainer/inspector.
• Complete travelers, training records, and material/labor entries accurately.
• Stop work if data are unclear or unsafe, and seek assistance.
• Maintain safety, ODV protection, and cleanliness in the work area.
• Support continuous improvement and on-time priorities.
