Job summary

Parker Aerospace, a division of Parker Hannifin Corporation, seeks an experienced welder with strong blueprints and quality requirements comprehension. The role involves setup, operation, and optimization of welding processes on high-temperature, high-strength alloys for aerospace fabrication, with opportunities to work with engineering on process improvements.

The candidate should have at least 8 years of welding experience, a HS diploma and the ability to obtain AWS D17.1.2001 certification.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • 8+ years welding or related experience.
  • Able to become certified to AWS D17.1.2001.
  • Able to read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, weld symbols and quality requirements.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate welding systems per work instructions.
  • Position fixtures and adjust workpieces on machines using tools and measuring devices.
  • Fine-tune the process to achieve conformance standards.
  • Read drawings, procedures, weld symbols and quality requirements.
  • Perform proper pre-weld cleaning and handling of parts.
  • Inspect hardware to ensure specifications are met.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Obtain and maintain required qualifications and certifications.
  • Troubleshoot weld equipment in a team environment.
  • Work with Engineering to develop weld processes and resolve issues.
  • Mentor and train less experienced welders.
