Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. is hiring for a packing/shipping role. The position involves preparing customer orders for shipping, building packing materials, and assisting production. You will follow established packing procedures and maintain safety and quality standards on the floor.

The job requires lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and the ability to work irregular hours. A High school diploma or GED is required, with forklift certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Math: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning: Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Physical demands: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Certificates: Forklift Certification, Preferred.
• Other abilities: Ability to work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepares customer orders for shipping and helping with production.
• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Follows packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain quality standards.
• Marks shipments per procedures and requirements.
• Maintains clean work area and records of equipment.
