Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a skilled technician to perform vacuum thermal processing for aerospace hardware at our Huntsville area facility. You will operate vacuum furnaces, assist with equipment installation, and help document manufacturing processes.

The role supports engineering, production, and quality teams in a fast-paced environment. Qualified candidates have 3+ years of aerospace vacuum processing experience, knowledge of AMS 2750/2769 related topics, and strong PC/documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years aerospace vacuum thermal processing experience.
• Understanding of vacuum system fundamentals and operation.
• Experience with materials like stainless steel, copper, nickel, cobalt alloys, titanium wrought alloys.
• Familiar with pre/post-process testing such as hardness testing.
• Familiar with vacuum furnace maintenance and calibration procedures.
• Strong written and PC skills; safety‑conscious work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist with specification, procurement, and installation of equipment.
• Operate and maintain vacuum furnaces and subsystems.
• Assist with process documentation and controls.
• Perform pyrometric testing and certification of vacuum furnace equipment.
• Design, test, and assemble prototype electro/mechanical systems and test equipment.
• Troubleshoot and perform operational tests on systems and equipment.
