Job summary

Relativity Space is hiring a mechanical engineer to develop tooling for the Terran R production line and the AeonR engine. You will own projects from concept to manufacturing, solving complex design challenges on the factory floor and helping scale production with robust fixtures and automation.

You will collaborate across teams to define requirements, meet weight and strength goals, and ensure reliability in fast-paced aerospace environments.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Prior aerospace experience is not required.
• Strong fundamentals in statics and stress analysis.
• Experience using CAD (NX preferred) for structural applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop tooling to support the manufacturing and integration teams for building Terran R and the AeonR engine.
• Own projects from cradle to grave: concepting, design, analysis, and manufacturing.
• Handle a wide range of technical problems including: material handling, assembly fixtures, off-loaders, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machines.
• Work across multiple teams to develop requirements, define timelines, and get buyoff on design decisions.
