Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions is seeking a welder to perform arc and TIG welding at Stennis Space Center, MS. The role involves reading blueprints, fabricating and repairing weldments, and using cutting and welding equipment in a demanding government contractor environment.

Mandatory AWS certification or SSC-approved testing, U.S. citizenship for NASA badge, and the ability to provide required documents at hire are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be AWS-certified per SSC standards or able to certify through SSC testing.
• U.S. citizenship required to obtain NASA badge.
• Must provide required identity documents at hire.
• Strong English communication skills, verbal and written.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Good organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions to determine welding requirements.
• Assembles and welds iron, steel, aluminum, stainless steel and other alloys.
• Uses arc and TIG welding processes and cutting tools to fit assemblies.
• Lays out and plans fabrication, repair, or modifications.
• Constructs stands and jigs for weldments; troubleshoots welding equipment.
• May assist other crafts and perform related duties as assigned.
