Job summary

Sceye is seeking a Thermal Engineer to join the Avionics Hardware team. You will lead the thermal design, analysis, and validation of avionics hardware for a stratospheric platform, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, systems and flight operations teams to ensure reliability across mission phases.

The role requires 5+ years in thermal engineering, with strong heat transfer knowledge and experience with thermal modeling tools and environmental testing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in thermal engineering, preferably in aerospace or avionics.
• Strong grasp of conduction, convection and radiation heat transfer principles.
• Experience analyzing thermal performance of electronic hardware and assemblies.
• Familiarity with thermal modeling tools and environmental testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead thermal analysis and design for avionics hardware including PCBs and enclosures.
• Develop and validate thermal models using analytical and numerical methods.
• Perform steady-state and transient thermal analyses to support design decisions.
• Define thermal requirements and margins for high-altitude, low-pressure environments.
• Support layout and enclosure design to optimize heat dissipation.
• Specify and evaluate thermal management solutions and testing plans.
• Contribute to design reviews with clear documentation and presentations.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, systems, and flight operations teams.
