Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking a Test Technician in Mukilteo, WA to support testing of mission-critical hardware, from component-level to full-system tests. You will work with engineers and senior technicians to set up experiments, run tests, and ensure procedures are followed safely and accurately.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2–5 years in aerospace/defense or manufacturing, ability to read technical drawings, and the willingness to obtain a Washington explosives license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments.
• Ability and willingness to obtain a Washington State explosives license.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
• Understanding of safety practices related to heavy industrial equipment.
• Proficiency with computers and familiarity with common office applications.

Responsibilities

• Supports test setup and execution in collaboration with engineers and senior technicians.
• Assists with test planning and execution, including test design, analysis, procedures, test plans, and data collection.
• Performs setup and teardown of fixturing, equipment, and instrumentation according to engineering procedures.
• Performs component-level pressure testing and full-system functional testing.
• Supports environmental testing, including thermal, shock, and vibration testing.
• Applies military and commercial testing specifications during test activities.
• Maintains and improves test laboratory equipment and facilities as required.
• Works independently with limited supervision while maintaining effective communication and interpersonal relationships.
