Job summary

VSE Aviation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of electrical and electromechanical systems used in aerospace components within an FAA repair station environment. This hands‑on role owns work from concept through implementation, including system design, instrumentation, data acquisition, and validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, or 3 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 4+ years of relevant technical work experience.
• Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Experience with LabVIEW or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop test equipment and test stands from concept through implementation.
• Perform hands-on system integration, including wiring, instrumentation installation, and system bring-up.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical systems at the component and system level.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test requirements to develop effective solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documents, including schematics, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
• Select and implement appropriate sensors and instrumentation based on measurement and environmental requirements.
• Develop and support data acquisition and control systems (e.g., LabVIEW or similar platforms).
• Analyze test data and system performance to identify root causes and drive improvements.
• Support calibration, validation, and verification of measurement and test systems.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry and regulatory standards (e.g., ARINC 668).
• Provide technical guidance and support to technicians and cross‑functional team members.
• Drive continuous improvement of test processes, equipment reliability, and overall capability.
• Other duties as assigned.
