Protingent Staffing in Washington, DC is seeking an Aerospace Test Engineer on a direct-hire basis. The role focuses on high-speed wind tunnel testing, data analysis, and translating aerodynamic objectives into test procedures.

You will assemble instruments, monitor data quality during runs, and help validate CFD models. Must have experience with LabView, MATLAB, and wind-tunnel test environments; US citizenship and active clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of aerospace engineering experience in aerodynamic or aerothermal analysis.
• Direct experience in an aerodynamic laboratory or testing facility (university experience acceptable).
• Proficiency with data acquisition and analysis tools such as LabView and MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and instrument complex sub-scale models with strain-gage balances, pressure scanners, and flow-visualization sensors; develop automated data acquisition routines.
• Monitor real-time data quality during wind tunnel runs; reduce and analyze large datasets; document aerodynamic coefficients for CFD validation.

Job Title: Aerospace Test Engineer

Protingent Staffing has an excitingdirect hire Aerospace Test Engineer with our client located in Washington, DC.

Job Description:

The Aerospace Engineer is responsible for High-speed Wind Tunnel Testing and data analysis.

• Preparing, executing, and analyzing experimental aerodynamic test campaigns to validate the performance of advanced aerospace vehicles and missile systems.

In this hands-on role, the engineer will collaborate with design teams to translate aerodynamic objectives into concrete test procedures and safely operate wind tunnel facility hardware.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assembling and instrumenting complex sub-scale models with strain-gage balances, pressure scanners, and flow-visualization sensors, as well as developing automated data acquisition routines.
• Monitoring real-time data quality during active wind tunnel runs, the reduction and analysis of large experimental datasets, and documentation of aerodynamic coefficients to validate computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models.

Job Qualifications:

• Preferred 2 years of experience in a relevant aerospace engineering discipline involving aerodynamic or aerothermal analysis.
• Preferred 2 years of direct experience in an aerodynamic laboratory or testing facility (experience at the university level is considered relevant)
• Strong proficiency with data acquisition and analysis tools such as LabView and MATLAB.
• Working knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools such as Star?CCM, CBAero, Cart3D, and TAOS.
• Proficiency with CAD software, such as Siemens NX Design or SolidWorks.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Required US Citizen and Active Secret clearance required with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
