Job description

MTSI is seeking a motivated and proactive journeyman systems engineer with a good understanding of modern digital engineering approaches and tools. This position requires independent critical thinking, technical expertise, and guidance in the design, development, integration, testing, and evaluation of complex systems. The position is focused on capability development and early systems engineering, often with emerging technologies. The incumbent will be responsible for staying current with the latest technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will represent projects, acting as a technical advisor ensuring the systems meet performance, reliability, and safety standards. This role requires a high degree of technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. The work location is in Dayton, OH.

Responsibilities:
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
*Serve asthe technicalrepresentativefor systems engineering methodologies, tools and processes related topre-program of record technical development, capability development.
*Lead and/orparticipatein the design, development, and integration of systems, subsystems, and components, from concept through experimentation, prototyping, production and sustainment.
*Conduct detailed analysis and modeling of systems, including performance, effectiveness, and vulnerability assessments.
*Develop andmaintainsystem specifications, technical documentation, and engineering drawings.
*Develop and execute test plans and procedures to verify system performance and compliance with requirements.
*Analyze test data,identifyperformance issues, and recommend corrective actions.
*Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems related to systems.
*Expand your technical expertise through training and continuous education.
*Stay abreast of advancements intechnologies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
*Prepare and present technical reports, presentations, and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure successful project execution.
Qualifications Required:
  • 5years of systems engineering experience on complex systems, with3year ofexperienceusing moderndigitalengineering tools and processesto perform system engineering tasks.
  • In-depth knowledge ofsystem of systems andsystem design principles, technologies, and architectures.
  • Commandingunderstanding of system engineering principles and processes.
  • Proficiencyindigital engineeringsoftware/tools(e.g., MATLAB,Atlassian, ANSYS,CAMEO,Team WorkCloud,CAD software,AFSIM, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant military standards and specifications.
