The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Office of Aviation Safety in Washington, DC seeks an engineer to perform specialist evaluations of aircraft systems for root cause failure analysis and to communicate findings to regulators and manufacturers.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in designing and overseeing comprehensive inspection techniques, tests, and hazard analyses to identify systemic aviation issues, and to author formal engineering reports used to inform safety

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in engineering evaluation of aircraft systems and components for root cause failure analysis.
• Experience designing or overseeing inspection techniques, tests, or hazard analyses for aircraft systems.
• Ability to communicate aerospace technical information to external stakeholders such as manufacturers and aviation agencies.
