Job summary

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Systems Assembler with aerospace wiring and mechanical assembly expertise for anopportunity in El Segundo, CA. You'll work from drawings and schematics to assemble harnesses, MLI/thermal blankets, and components, using precision tools and measurement equipment.

Strong documentation and detail orientation are essential in a cleanroom environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical assembly for high-reliability products (preferably aerospace).
• Proven experience in building and terminating wiring harnesses to a high standard for racks and boxes.
• At least 1 year of experience working with MLI/thermal blankets.
• Experience using a variety of hand tools, including scalpels, scissors, hollow punches, etc.
• Skilled in interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and harness wiring diagrams, as well as internal and external specifications.
• Proficient in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, digital multimeters (DMM), and depth gauges.
• Experience with assembly tooling and/or composites fabrication and assembly.
• Proficient in using various hand and power tools.
• Experience with mixing epoxy materials.

Responsibilities

• Determine methods for integrating designs from drawings and schematics to meet production requirements.
• Perform assembly and integration tasks to precise tolerances per engineering specs.
• Operate specialized spacecraft assembly equipment (hydraulic test consoles, alignment fixtures).
• Install components in space vehicles and perform leak and pressure checks.
• Handle fragile MLI films during installation on test and flight articles.
• Support installation of MLI and SLI on spacecraft per specs.
• Assist engineers and researchers in developing improved procedures and recording test data.
• Acquire necessary certifications and perform related duties with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate knowledge of materials and process specifications.
• Provide instruction and support to colleagues in related classifications.
• Apply mechanical principles to all tasks and support range operations.
