Job summary

Astranis is seeking a Supplier Quality Inspector to own an incoming inspection station and ensure quality of flight hardware. You will handle inspections across multiple commodities and manage non-conformances with corrective actions, interfacing with Engineering and Production to drive quality improvements.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in aerospace/mfg inspection, experience with CAD drawings, metrology gauges, and microscope analysis, plus strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of inspection experience in aerospace, military or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of control of nonconforming hardware, failure/root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions.
• Experience reading and interpreting design drawings and CAD models.
• Experience using metrology manual gauges (micrometer, height gauge, caliper, go/no-go gauges).
• Experience using a microscope to visualize and photograph defects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspection of flight hardware against 2D drawings and specifications; support multiple commodities (machined parts, assemblies, PCBA, harnesses).
• Document and manage Non-Conformances; create tickets, communicate cross-functionally, and perform dispositions and corrective actions.
• Provide feedback to Engineering Teams to ensure efficiency of Work Orders and Inspection Procedures.
• Interface with Engineering and Production Teams to support resolution of Non-Conformances.
• Inspect hardware documentation like Certificates of Conformance and End Item Data Packages; locate Technical Data Packages.
• Own an Incoming Quality station; maintain standardization, cleanliness, and efficient workflow.
• Lead initiatives of continuous improvement with Facilities, Production, and Engineering Teams.
