Job summary

MOHR Talent is seeking an experienced Aerospace Supplier Quality Engineer for a remote role supporting aerospace and defense programs. You will qualify and manage suppliers, conduct audits, and review FAI per AS9102, while traveling to supplier sites as needed.

You’ll apply GD&T, AS9100/AS9102 know-how, and drive root-cause analysis, working with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to improve supplier performance and ensure compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 5+ years in a quality or supplier engineering role within the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, coatings and painting, and high precision manufacturing.
  • In-depth understanding of AS9100, AS9102, and aerospace regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience with supplier auditing, quality planning, and process validation.
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T and technical drawing interpretation.
  • Willingness to travel to supplier locations, up to 75 percent.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify and manage suppliers in line with aerospace/defense standards (AS9100, program requirements).
  • Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Review and approve First Article Inspections per AS9102.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for supplier non-conformances.
  • Provide guidance on machining, coatings/painting, and related manufacturing processes.
  • Interpret drawings using GD&T to evaluate supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to resolve quality issues and improve performance.
  • Support Material Review Boards and supplier-related defect decisions.
  • Maintain and improve documentation, inspection criteria, and quality records.

Aerospace Supplier Quality Engineer
Remote (Mountain or Pacific Time) | Travel Required | $120,000 - $130,000 /yr | Full-Time

A well established and growing aerospace and defense manufacturer with a strong reputation for quality and innovation is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team. This is a remote opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact on supplier performance and product quality within a company that truly cares about its people.

What You'll Do:

  • Qualify and manage suppliers in line with aerospace and defense industry standards, including AS9100 and program specific requirements
  • Conduct supplier audits, technical capability assessments, and ongoing surveillance to ensure continued compliance
  • Review and approve First Article Inspections per AS9102, ensuring alignment with engineering drawings and contractual specs
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes to resolve supplier non-conformances
  • Provide technical guidance on machining, surface finishing, painting, and related aerospace manufacturing processes
  • Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T to evaluate supplier performance
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to resolve quality issues and improve supplier performance
  • Participate in Material Review Boards and support decisions involving supplier related defects
  • Maintain and improve documentation, inspection criteria, and quality records

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in a quality or supplier engineering role within the aerospace and defense industry
  • Strong working knowledge of machining processes, coatings and painting, and high precision manufacturing
  • In depth understanding of AS9100, AS9102, and aerospace regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience with supplier auditing, quality planning, and process validation
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T and technical drawing interpretation
  • Willingness to travel to supplier locations, up to 75 percent
