Qualifications

  • Must have thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair procedures.
  • Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
  • Must have basic knowledge of electrical theory.
  • Familiar with aircraft unique tools such as test equipment and torque wrenches.
  • May lead teams through complex aircraft-relevant tasks when required.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components.
  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
  • Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems.
  • Applies technical knowledge to diagnose malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
  • May make entries in aircraft logs and records.
