Job summary

Stoke Space is seeking a structural dynamicist to analyze and test launch vehicle and rocket engine hardware. You will build analytical models to assess modal, life, strength, and stability, and work with cross-functional engineers to validate performance in a hardware-rich environment.

The role offers a path to develop tools and guidance that speed up analyses and improve automation, while documenting results to support verification and communication across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• Solid structural fundamentals including statics and dynamics
• Experience applying structural dynamics through analysis
• Basic FEA experience
• Basic scripting with Python or MATLAB
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with teams in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Develop analytical models of launch vehicle and rocket engine hardware to assess structural performance (modal, life, strength, stability)
• Support structural and component testing through planning, instrumentation, execution, and data review
• Collaborate with engineers to improve designs and test approaches
• Develop tools, methods, and guidance to improve speed, consistency, and automation
• Document results of modeling and testing to support verification activities
• Other responsibilities as required

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
