Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Sterling, VA is seeking an experienced sheet metal fabricator to translate blueprints into high-precision parts and support aerospace-grade manufacturing. You will operate sheet metal equipment, set up presses, ensure tight tolerances, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in sheet metal fabrication, blueprint fluency, and strong measurement skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or vocational training preferred; not required.
• 1–2 years in sheet metal fabrication preferred; prior precision manufacturing helpful.
• Blueprint and engineering drawing fluency.
• Ability to set up and operate sheet metal equipment.
• Knowledge of forming methods, tooling, bend allowances, and standard practices.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and close tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Translate blueprints, drawings, specifications into high-precision parts.
• Execute layout, measurement, forming, bending, cutting, drilling, deburring, and assembly.
• Set up and run press brakes, shears, punches, saws, drills, and related machinery.
• Select tooling and establish optimal machine parameters.
• Hold tight tolerances and validate with calipers, micrometers, gauges.
• Perform drilling, countersinking, riveting, fastening, and mechanical assembly.
• Escalate fabrication or drawing concerns to supervisors, engineering, or quality.
• Document work accurately and on time; comply with AS9100 and quality procedures.
• Maintain 5S, PPE and equipment safety; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
