Job summary

Rocket Lab, based at Wallops Island, is seeking a Security Officer to manage on-site security operations and protect assets. The role is 100% on-site with duties spanning guard duties, incident response, and access management. Base pay reflects Virginia pay transparency.

The candidate should have a strong security background, leadership experience, and the ability to coordinate with facilities and management. On-site work with full benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency and 6+ years in security.
• 2+ years of direct line management in security.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Valid driver’s license.
• CPR and First-Aid training and/or certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily management of the security team to keep facilities and employees safe and secure.
• Own CCTV monitoring, access control, and intruder detection systems.
• Vet and process visitors, contractors, and guests.
• Coordinate resources for maintenance, repairs and facility projects.
• Manage identification badge fulfillment, processing, and accountability.
• Coordinate response to emergencies (fire/medical/suspicious person).
• Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
