Job summary

Ducommun Incorporated is seeking a Design Engineer to execute all facets of engineering projects for Magnetic Seal products, from concept through production. The role coordinates with engineering, manufacturing engineering and tech support to deliver successful product launches and handle inquiries, problems and initiatives.

The on-site position at the Warren, RI facility involves developing designs, running FEA and testing, and supporting various functions with product material, manufacturing

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree or equivalent.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical seals.
• US citizen or permanent resident.
• Local to the Rhode Island facility.
• Ability to stand, walk, and use fine manipulation; strong English reading/writing.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, implementation and analysis of mechanical rotary face seals for aerospace and related markets.
• Create 3D models and drawings; perform reverse engineering; conduct FEA simulations.
• Develop test plans, design test rigs, collect data and analyze results.
• Review contracts for accuracy and alignment with terms and internal requirements.
• Provide engineering, manufacturing and project management support; drive process/product improvements.
