Job summary

Ducommun, Inc. in Warren, RI is seeking a Design Engineer to lead design engineering projects through the entire product lifecycle, from concept through production.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and support teams to ensure successful product launches that meet demanding sealing needs. The role emphasizes 3D modeling, drawing creation, FEA analysis, test planning, and process improvements, along with evaluating proposals, contracts, and documentation for accuracy and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (ABET accredited).
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical seals or related field.
• Experience with 3D modeling, FEA and drawing creation.
• Knowledge of ITAR/ITAR-like controls and a U.S. citizen or LPR status is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and analyze mechanical rotary seals for aerospace and related markets.
• Create 3D models and drawings; perform FEA and component selection.
• Plan tests, operate test rigs, collect data and assess performance.
• Review customer proposals, specifications, and contracts for feasibility and cost.
• Provide engineering and project management support; pursue process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and attend industry events.
