Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Design Engineering with aerospace industry experience.
• Graduate degree with 2+ years of Mechanical Design Engineering experience in aerospace or 8+ years experience without a degree.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop layouts; prepare engineering drawings; coordinate with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing to meet requirements at minimum cost.
• Lead engineers in design of detail parts, assemblies, and large installations for aircraft structure modifications.
• Incorporate feedback from multiple parties into designs and installation packages.
• Review and approve the design of detail parts and assemblies to support aircraft modification installations.
• Utilize 3D CAD tools and work with senior engineers on diverse aircraft systems.
• Maintain part configuration data and manage related documentation.
• Meet delivery schedules and track budgets; participate in project management.
• Move to and from the flight line; work in an aircraft production environment and board/exit aircraft as required.
• Familiar with aircraft systems/structures and STCs or general modification.
• Proficiency in MS Office; ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance.
