Job summary

SpaceX in Bloomfield, CT seeks a Receiving Inspector (Starfall) to receive, inspect, kit, and ship textiles, hardware, and materials for its Starfall, Dragon, and Starship programs. This hybrid role supports the soft goods shop and interfaces with engineering, production, and procurement to ensure timely, safe, and compliant material flow.

The role requires 1+ years in receiving or related areas, a high school diploma, and familiarity with ERP/WMS systems; hazardous materials or ordnance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ year in receiving/inspection in manufacturing.
• ERP/WMS experience (Warp or equivalent) and handheld/RF scanners preferred.
• Experience with hazardous-materials or ordnance shipping certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unpack incoming shipments; count, weigh, and measure against packing lists and bills of lading; transact receipts, print routing labels, and quarantine unverified material.
• Validate part number, quantity, revision, and condition against purchase orders, drawings, and specifications; pull correct drawing revision for receipt.
• Review quality documentation for completeness; upload and maintain receiving records.
• Inspect incoming materials using visual methods and calibrated tools; approve or reject items and document non-conformances.
• Perform tension testing of thread and other textiles per procedure.
• Fill requests for inventory from work orders; pick, kit, and deliver material to correct shop-floor location; maintain traceability.
• Put away material in labeled bins; receive finished goods; maintain accurate locations.
• Control shelf-life lots; perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies; review location accuracy reports.
• Prepare, pack, label, weigh, and stage outgoing shipments; coordinate carrier pickup; maintain shipping-supply stock.
• Handle ordnance and dangerous-goods shipments; obtain and maintain required certifications.
• Interface with production, engineering, purchasing, and carriers to resolve shortages and discrepancies; create issue tickets as required.
• Keep receiving, inventory, and shipping areas organized; follow FOD, PPE, traceability, and material handling procedures; operate forklifts when required.
