Job summary

Epic Aircraft, LLC in Bend, Oregon, is seeking an R&D Technician to provide hands-on support for research, development, testing, and prototyping. You will fabricate, modify, and assemble prototype parts using welding, machining, and a variety of shop tools, turning drawings into working solutions.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating with engineers.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with hands-on aptitude.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow engineering instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot.
• Able to work independently and also collaborate with a team.
• Comfortable using a wide variety of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Support Engineering and R&D projects through fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and modification.
• Build prototypes and proof-of-concept components from drawings or verbal direction.
• Fabricate and modify tools, fixtures, and brackets to support testing.
• Perform basic machining to produce or modify parts as needed.
• Weld components using TIG and other welding processes.
• Measure and inspect components to meet dimensions and fit.
• Assist Engineers with prototype development, testing, and design improvements.
• Identify fabrication issues and work with Engineers to find practical solutions.
• Collaborate to maintain a safe, organized shop environment and equipment.
