Ashton North seeks a Quality Engineer to ensure dimensional accuracy, performance, and reliability of aerospace ball screws and precision components. You will perform in-machine measurements, develop inspection plans, and validate processes while collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to meet aerospace standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on metrology, GD&T proficiency, and contributing to continuous improvement in flight-critical actuation systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; 5+ years in aerospace/precision machining quality.
• Strong metrology and GD&T knowledge per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with in-machine inspection and CMM techniques.
• Familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100 and customer specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision dimensional inspections of ball screws, nuts and related components.
• Conduct in-machine inspection to validate tool offsets and machining accuracy.
• Develop and maintain inspection plans and FAI documentation.
• Verify lead accuracy, pitch variation, straightness, runout, and surface finish.
• Collaborate with machinists to ensure tolerances are met.
• Review and approve work instructions and process changes.
• Support audits, supplier assessments and RCCA activities.
