Job summary

Red Seal Recruiting is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure dimensional accuracy and reliability of aerospace-grade ball screws and precision-machined components. The role requires hands-on inspection, in-machine measurements, and development of inspection plans within a strict aerospace quality framework.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in aerospace quality, strong GD&T expertise, and experience with CMMs and inspection software.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
5+ years of quality engineering experience in aerospace, precision machining, or motion-control components.
Strong proficiency in GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and precision measurement tools.
Ability to evaluate customer concerns and coordinate with quality management to address issues.

Responsibilities

Perform precision dimensional inspections of ball screws and related components using CMMs, optical systems, and micrometers.
Conduct in-machine inspection and measurement of parts fixtured in CNC machines to validate tooling offsets and accuracy.
Develop and maintain inspection and control plans, and document FAI data.
Verify lead accuracy, pitch variation, straightness, runout, and surface finish of ball screw assemblies.
Collaborate with machinists and engineers to ensure machining processes meet tolerances.
Support RCCA/8D for nonconforming parts and participate in internal/external audits.
