Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Technical Writer to join our manufacturing quality team. You will serve as the local subject matter expert for technical writing, train inspectors, and drive best practices across shifts while ensuring high-quality documentation and conformance to customer and industry standards.

You will develop NCRs, inspection and control plans, FAIs, and MRBs, and act as the primary contact for non-conformance investigations.

Qualifications

Must have AS degree or 3 years related experience in manufacturing quality
Experience in interpreting and revising written documentation for consistency
Experience in producing NCRs, RMAs, and inspection plans is advantageous

Responsibilities

Serve as local SME for technical writing and train inspectors across shifts
Report on writing performance and turnaround times to leadership
Identify recurring quality issues and implement corrective actions
Develop and update technical writing best practices across the organization
Create NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions
Understand customer/industry quality requirements (ISO/AS standards)
Provide controls/solutions to deliver high-quality products on schedule
Act as primary contact in non-conformance investigations and material assessments
Contribute to Saab's people-first culture and values
Support additional projects as needed
