Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to support NASA programs in the United States. The role focuses on mission assurance across the project life cycle, supplier surveillance, and inspections.

Responsibilities include reviewing flight hardware records, closing non-conformances, supporting MRRs/TRRs, and verifying lab certifications. 10+ years in quality engineering and aerospace experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years Quality Engineering experience
  • Previous NASA or aerospace industry experience
  • GMIPS for Electronic Boards
  • Pre-cap inspection of hybrid microcircuits
  • 100% of solder joints prior to conformal coating of each flight printed wiring assembly
  • 100% of conformal coatings on flight printed wiring assemblies
  • Final workmanship inspection prior to box level final closure
  • Connector mates to mission hardware integrated into the spacecraft
  • General workmanship quality prior to final acceptance testing
  • General workmanship prior to shipment
  • Shipping packaging conforms to requirements

Responsibilities

  • Ensure flight hardware anomalies, corrective actions, and re-verifications are documented per non-conformance system
  • Participate in production planning and MRRs/TRRs
  • Examine process design and qualification records and lab certifications
  • Review flight hardware records and address open items before tests
  • Monitor contractor quality and safety controls during fabrication, integration, and tests
  • QAR monitoring
  • Support root cause corrective actions
  • Analyze data to measure supplier performance
  • Review supplier CDRL documents for quality assurance recommendations
  • Review flight hardware records for completeness before integration and acceptance testing
  • Perform final instrument buy-off reviews
  • Complete thorough inspections
