Job summary

Applied Aerospace is seeking a Quality Engineer to develop and maintain inspection plans, review drawings and specifications, and partner with Engineering on product development and process validation. You will drive quality improvements through data analysis, PFMEA, and KPI monitoring.

The role emphasizes collaboration across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management, with a focus on preventing defects, reducing variation, and ensuring regulatory compliance in aerospace manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required.
• Three+ years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience using quality tools including RCA, FMEA, Fishbone, 5 Why, and statistical analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain inspection plans for new and existing programs.
• Review customer drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements to ensure processes satisfy all requirements.
• Partner with Engineering during product development, process validation, and manufacturing readiness activities.
• Support Process Control Plans, PFMEA activities, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends and risks.
• Develop and monitor KPIs that measure quality system effectiveness.
• Lead quality-related problem solving and corrective actions.
• Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
