Job summary

Chromalloy in Newnan, GA, is seeking a Quality Engineer to evaluate and resolve quality issues arising during manufacturing and maintenance of turbine engine components.

You will develop and provide statistical analyses, lead 8D problem solving, review drawings, ensure configuration management documents are released on time, and support QA procedures to improve first pass yield.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, or related field) preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a quality engineer.
• Six Sigma, 8D, or root cause analysis experience using statistical tools.
• Certification process experience (ISO9001:2008, AS9100/9110, FAA Parts) as applicable.
• Knowledge of QDAS system and proficiency in Excel, Minitab, PowerPoint, Access, Power BI.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Familiar with navigation of OEM Engine Manuals.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications with engineering staff to determine quality standards.
• Prepare corrective action responses, 8D problem solving for permanent actions, and lead problem solving activities.
• Manage internal and customer drawings and specifications.
• Ensure timely release of configuration management documents and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Provide technical support to internal/external customers and suppliers.
• Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards.
• Support Cost-Out, Scrap/Rework reduction, and First Pass Yield site goals.

The Quality Engineer performs all aspects required for proper evaluation and resolution of quality related matters and technical issues that may arise during manufacturing and maintenance of turbine engine components, and to support activities related to quality system requirements compliance. Develop, track, and provide statistical analysis, reports and metrics for quality related activities.

Responsibilities

• Interpretengineering drawings and customer specifications and conferwith engineering staff to determine quality standards.
• Prepare corrective action responses, 8D problem solving for permanent corrective actions, and lead problem solving activities.
• Manage internal and customer drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrate and deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring timely release of control of configuration management documents.
• Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards.
• Actively support Cost-Out, Scrap/Rework reduction & improved First Pass Yield site goals and objectives
