Job summary

Chromalloy Corporation in Tampa, FL is seeking a QC Inspector – Visual Inspector to inspect aerospace components for cosmetic, dimensional, and assembly-related quality requirements. You will use calipers, micrometers, plug gages, and CMMs, reading blueprints and documenting results to ensure compliance before production moves forward.

The role requires 1+ years in quality inspection, strong attention to detail, and clear English communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of quality inspection, manufacturing, aerospace, or related experience.
• Ability to clearly communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding work instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
• Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify cosmetic and dimensional defects.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to analyze inspection results, solve problems, and make sound quality decisions.
• Ability to work safely, follow procedures, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of parts and materials for cosmetic and dimensional conformance.
• Inspect components for damage, burrs, raised material, nicks, scratches, and assembly defects.
• Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, plug gages, and thread gages.
• Operate inspection equipment such as optical comparators, height gages, transfer stands, and dial indicators.
• Set up and operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) in manual mode.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and inspection requirements.
• Document inspection results and support quality investigations as needed.
• Identify and communicate nonconforming conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
