Job summary

Redwire Space NV is seeking an Aerospace QA Engineer for our Marlborough, MA facility. The role requires aerospace manufacturing experience with inspection and technical duties, joining a small Quality Team with a big impact.

Responsibilities include method approval, data analysis, root-cause investigations, and ensuring AS9100/ISO9001 compliance, audits support, and collaboration with purchasing and engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years QA/Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.
  • Knowledge of J-STD-001 Space Addendum; NASA 8739.1/NAS8739.4 knowledge.
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025 calibration requirements and IPC 610/J-STD-001 inspections.
  • US Citizenship or US Person per ITAR requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work with manufacturing engineering to create and approve methods and procedures for fabricating, inspecting and testing Aerospace products.
  • Collect, analyze and summarize data from quality inspections and determine root causes using fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, 8D, etc.
  • Lead non-conformance investigations with relevant teams.
  • Ensure quality standards comply with AS9100 and ISO9001 across engineering and manufacturing.
  • Support internal and external audits and contribute to quality metrics.

Summary

We have a current opportunity for anAerospaceQA Engineerlocated at our manufacturing facility in Marlborough, MA. In this role, we require prior Aerospace experience in a manufacturing environment with the ability to perform inspections and other technical duties, as required.You will be part of a small Quality Team with a Big Impact!

Responsibilities
  • Work directly with manufacturing engineering to create and approve methods and procedures for fabricating, inspecting and testing of Aerospace products. Ensure the documentation is detailed and meets Aerospace standards.
  • Collect, analyze and summarize data from quality inspections and finding reasons/ getting to root-cause of product problems, utilizing tools such as fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, 8D’s, or other methods.
  • Lead Non-conformance investigations with relevant teams
  • Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place that comply with AS9100 and ISO9001.
  • Ensures that corrective measures meet AS9100 requirements and result in preventing similar defects in future builds.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.
  • Work may include support of Quality metrics generation and reporting, Cause and Effect analysis, and Program customer interface.
  • Work with purchasing to ensure quality requirements are flowed down.

Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of QA Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering experience desired
  • Experience may be substituted for education
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO9001 standards
  • Knowledge of standard Aerospace Industry requirements.
  • J-STD-001 Space Addendum knowledge and/or certification preferred
  • NASA 8739.1 and/or NAS8739.4 knowledge and/or certification (Polymerics experience acceptable)
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025 calibration requirements.
  • Experience performing inspections to J-STD-001 or IPC 610
  • Knowledge of safety requirements for a manufacturing facility.
  • US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR regulations
Desired Skills
  • Experience with EE and Mechanical Drawings and Schematics
  • Quality Assurance Experience in Aerospace or Military Industries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: ability to clearly communicate technical issues both verbally and produce detailed presentations and reports that are thorough and of high quality
  • Understanding of technical documentationand the requirements needed for Aerospace products.
  • Self-starter, who strives to continuously improve processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Pay Range

$100,000 - $125,000/year

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.
