Service Steel Aerospace is seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist in the United States to develop sourcing strategies and ensure a reliable, cost-effective supply of materials and services supporting manufacturing and customer requirements.

The role collaborates with Sales, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Engineering to align purchasing with business goals, mitigate supply risks, and drive cost reductions. Strong ERP/MRP and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 5–8 years of progressive procurement/strategic sourcing experience in manufacturing, aerospace, metals distribution, or industrial environments.
• Demonstrated success negotiating complex supplier agreements and achieving measurable cost savings.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory planning, supplier performance management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned commodity categories to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and supply continuity.
• Lead competitive sourcing activities, including RFQs, RFPs, and supplier evaluations.
• Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, payment terms, lead times, service levels, and long-term supply agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support ERP and purchasing system enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
