Job summary

Benchmark Space Systems seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Burlington, VT headquarters. You will develop mechanical designs for propulsion components and systems from concept through production, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electronics and telemetry.

The role emphasizes DFM, producibility, and producing production-ready prints and models using CAD tools, primarily SolidWorks, with basic FEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3+ years of professional mechanical design experience in aerospace.
• U.S. Person required; export control restrictions apply; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs at component and system level from concept to production.
• Collaborate with Electrical and Software Engineers to integrate electronics and telemetry.
• Coordinate with Analysis and Test Engineers to validate designs.
• Source components and support manufacturing of custom designs with vendors.
• Support design reviews and maintain BOMs, documentation, and mass growth estimates.
