Job description

PPG Aerospace is now hiring an Aerospace Project Management Specialist ! As an Aerospace Project Management Specialist, you will manage projects or assist the project/program manager to manage and maintain data used for project execution, management, and reporting. You will have the ability to implement a recommended project framework for scheduling, resourcing, status, risk, work planning, monitoring, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

In this role you will work on-site at our Burbank, CA facility and report directly to the Global Aerospace technical Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledgeable about Project management methodology and understands how to apply project management best practices to achieve business success.
  • Utilize templates used for project initiation, execution, management, and reporting.
  • Helps socialize best practices and standards for project management within the Aerospace business.
  • Works across functions to drive key projects to success. Must be highly collaborative.
  • Work with customers to understand, capture, and develop appropriate project timelines.
  • Expected to be aware of and understand current industry trends
  • Works primarily with the project team and project sponsors to effectively execute growth and preservative innovation projects.
  • Interacts with key stakeholders.
  • Manage complex and high value projects in collaboration with the Science & Technology chemists, materials scientists, and engineers.
  • Leads small teams with coaching and raises conflict issues to leadership.
  • Expected to keep an open mind for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science related technical field with five (5) or more years of relevant work experience required
  • OR Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science related technical field with two (2) or more years of relevant work experience required
  • Three (3) or more years of Project Management experience required
  • Demonstrated track record in project management and product commercialization
  • Demonstrated Track record of cross functional collaboration
  • Experience with the Stage Gate process and tools preferred
  • Project management certification is a plus

Salary will be $110,000 – $150,000 based on experience.
