Job summary

Bascom Hunter seeks an experienced Program Manager to lead aerospace & defense development and production programs. You will drive execution across scope, schedule, cost, and quality, interfacing with customers and key suppliers.

You will lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, Supply Chain, Configuration Management, Finance, and Contracts to ensure program success and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Program Management, Business, Operations, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of aerospace & defense, government contracting, or technical program-management experience.
• Experience managing complex technical or hardware development programs through multiple lifecycle phases.
• Working knowledge of Earned Value Management / EVMS.
• Experience with WBS and IMS development and maintenance.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-881 or equivalent WBS methodologies.
• Experience with critical-path scheduling, variance analysis, budgets, forecasts, and EACs.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering, manufacturing, supply-chain, quality, and test teams.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned programs from contract award through development, qualification, delivery, and closeout.
• Translate statements of work and requirements into executable program plans.
• Develop and maintain WBS aligned with MIL-STD-881.
• Develop, baseline, and maintain IMS with schedule logic and milestones.
• Apply EVM to measure cost and schedule performance.
• Develop and maintain program budgets, forecasts, and EACs.
• Maintain traceability of requirements and contractual deliverables.
• Coordinate resource planning with functional leaders to align with schedules.
• Plan and support major reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PRR).
• Establish and maintain risk and opportunity management with mitigations.
• Monitor suppliers, long-lead items, and external dependencies.
• Interface with customers on status, risks, and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and internal quality systems.
• Support proposal development, cost estimating, and contract negotiations.
