Job summary

Elbit Systems of America, LLC in Alabama is seeking a Buyer II to manage moderately complex procurement activities for materials, supplies, and services, supporting production and projects. You will conduct bid evaluations, negotiate pricing, and select suppliers in line with technical specs and regulatory standards.

This role covers the full procurement lifecycle, supplier performance, and collaboration with program managers to develop strategies, while driving cost reduction and risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
• Or Associate’s degree with 4+ years of experience.
• Understanding FAR and procurement ethics.
• Experience with supplier market research and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, issuing POs, and maintaining inventory to support production.
• Ensure timely, cost-effective acquisition of high-reliability components meeting quality standards.
• Create RFPs for programs in response to customer requirements.
• Represent the company in negotiations.
• Place calls or releases against subcontracts and track prime contract performance.
• Review system for receipt of units; place orders, issue POs, and verify acknowledgements.
• Support programs with prices, sources, and turnaround times.
• Perform duties of a Buyer to support the company.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to meet quality, delivery, and cost targets.
• Collaborate with program managers to develop procurement strategies and timelines.
• Negotiate terms and pricing to secure favorable DoD contracts.
• Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, quality, and production.
• Support cost savings/avoidance/reduction initiatives via alternate sourcing and value engineering.
