Job summary

Qualifications

• 4+ years of direct purchasing in aerospace/defense/government contracting.
• Understanding of aerospace and government contract types and flow-down clauses.
• Ability to audit and vet suppliers for quality assurance.
• Experience owning end-to-end purchasing and material planning for engineering materials, parts and equipment.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with proactive vendor management.
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Qualify, quote, audit and manage suppliers, specialized machine shops, and vendors.
• Enforce strict supply chain documentation compliance including COCs, MTRs, and First Article Inspections.
• Track supply delivery and quality metrics and drive root-cause actions for vendor escapes.
• Prepare and execute procurement negotiations, expedite long-lead hardware and dual-sourcing strategies.
• Serve as primary liaison between internal engineering requirements and vendor capabilities.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, lead-time reduction, and supplier consolidation.
• Support inventory planning and maintain stock levels while minimizing obsolescence risk.
• Ensure purchases comply with procurement policies and safety/documentation standards.
