Job summary

Héroux-Devtek Inc. in Livonia, Michigan, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead grinding operations for precision aerospace components.

You will manage a team of machinists, plan workflows, and ensure production, quality, safety, and delivery commitments align with AS9100 and ISO standards. The role requires advanced machining expertise in precision grinding, the ability to interpret complex aerospace drawings, and strong leadership to develop the team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on machining experience with precision grinding of hard metals.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of machining methods, grinding processes, tooling, and manufacturing best practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting aerospace blueprints, GD&T and technical specifications.
• Experience using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of grinding machinists and production personnel.
• Plan, schedule, and prioritize workflow to meet production deadlines and customer requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to ensure accurate manufacturing processes.
• Determine machining methods, tooling requirements, and operational sequencing for various grinding operations.
• Monitor production performance, quality metrics, and throughput to identify improvement opportunities.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues (Landis, Brown & Sharpe, Toyoda) and support best practices.
