Job summary

Headquarters, Air Force Reserve Command seeks an Air Reserve Technician (ART) in the WG-5300 Industrial Equipment Maintenance family. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service with federal benefits and must maintain active AF Reserve membership. Training assemblies and possible overtime are typical requirements.

The role emphasizes electrical and mechanical knowledge to inspect, repair, and overhaul power systems, generators, and related gear, prioritizing safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electricity (AC/DC) and safety rules and regulations pertaining to aerospace ground equipment and power systems.
• Ability to read, interpret, and use wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical orders.
• Experience with generators, automatic transfer switches, and uninterruptible power systems, and with internal combustion engines and gas turbines.
• Ability to train others and follow shop procedures and directives.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and modify generators and power systems.
• Repair jacks, ladders, platforms, and non-powered equipment as needed.
• Maintain clean work areas and ensure safety during complex electrical and mechanical tasks.
