Job summary

Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Plater / Chemical Processing Technician for a Clearwater, FL manufacturing partner focused on aerospace and defense finishing.

The role involves performing chromate conversion coatings, plating on aluminum and other metals, and monitoring baths and process parameters to ensure quality and conformance to specifications. Training and career progression are available in a fast-growing team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in metal finishing, plating, anodizing, passivation, or chemical processing.
• Direct experience with chromate conversion coatings (Chem Film/Alodine).
• Understanding of metal preparation and surface treatment techniques.
• Knowledge of NADCAP or AS9100 quality environments.
• Ability to read and follow written work instructions and specifications.
• Basic math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform chromate conversion coating (Alodine/Chem Film) processes on aluminum and other metal components.
• Process parts through plating lines, including nickel, zinc, tin, and cadmium.
• Prepare metal surfaces through cleaning, etching, rinsing, masking, and pre-treatment procedures.
• Monitor chemical baths and process parameters including temperature, concentration, pH levels, and immersion times.
• Follow detailed work instructions, military specifications, and customer requirements.
• Load and unload parts on racks and fixtures for chemical processing operations.
• Conduct visual inspections to verify coating quality and conformance to specifications.
