Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Carson, CA is seeking a Planning Manager (Aerospace) to lead materials planning, scheduling, and inventory control on-site.

You will ensure availability of stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium, optimize MRP parameters, and collaborate with procurement, quality, engineering, and production teams to align material availability with production priorities. The role requires leadership in a regulated aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in materials planning in an aerospace or precision metal manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience leading a team.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Export-controlled data access; compliance with ITAR/DFARS.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of planning professionals for materials planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
• Ensure availability of stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium stock to support schedules.
• Manage MRP parameters including safety stock, lead times, lot sizing, reorder points.
• Collaborate with procurement, quality, engineering, and production teams.
• Monitor inventory levels balancing production continuity and costs.
• Analyze demand forecasts, customer orders, and production schedules to ensure material availability.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery meeting AMS, ASTM and customer requirements.
• Ensure traceability and documentation of raw materials per AS9100, FAA, and traceability requirements.
• Support engineering changes by assessing material impact and transition planning.
• Lead cycle counting and continuous improvement programs.
• Develop and present KPIs such as inventory turns and on-time delivery.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ITAR/DFARS.
