A leading aerospace contractor in Charleston is seeking a skilled Payloads Design Engineer to manage systems associated with airplane interiors, including design and validation of components. Candidates should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, along with 2+ years of relevant experience and proficiency in 3-D modeling tools like SOLIDWORKS or CATIA. This role supports cross-functional teams to optimize designs through the engineering lifecycle, contributing to production and certification processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
2+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2+ years of experience with 3-D modeling and/or equivalent combination of additional education.
Responsibilities
Develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements.
Perform tests to validate and verify systems meet requirements.
Support management of supplier performance and optimize design.
