Job summary

A leading aerospace contractor in Charleston is seeking a skilled Payloads Design Engineer to manage systems associated with airplane interiors, including design and validation of components. Candidates should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, along with 2+ years of relevant experience and proficiency in 3-D modeling tools like SOLIDWORKS or CATIA. This role supports cross-functional teams to optimize designs through the engineering lifecycle, contributing to production and certification processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
• 2+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of experience with 3-D modeling and/or equivalent combination of additional education.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements.
• Perform tests to validate and verify systems meet requirements.
• Support management of supplier performance and optimize design.
