Job summary

PPG’s Aerospace division in Shelby, NC seeks an MRO Specialist to ensure availability and optimization of maintenance materials and indirect parts for safe plant operations. You will manage end-to-end lifecycle of materials, support asset reliability, and ensure compliance with aerospace and regulatory standards.

On-site role reporting to the Asset Care & Maintenance Reliability Manager. Responsibilities include supplier management, 5S implementation in the storeroom, CMMS data integrity, and

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma required.
• 3+ years MRO, purchasing, or crib management experience.
• At least 2 years in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo, Asset Essentials, etc.).
• Experience with industrial equipment and spare parts.
• U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, or eligible asylees/refugees.

Responsibilities

• Manage MRO inventory with criticality-based stocking, cycle counts, reconciliation, and carrying-cost optimization.
• Source, onboard, and manage suppliers; issue RFQs/ POs; negotiate pricing and lead times.
• Improve storeroom operations with 5S and visual management; reduce obsolete inventory.
• Maintain CMMS/ERP data, including material masters and equipment BOMs; drive standardization.
• Support maintenance/reliability by identifying critical spares and tooling; assist root cause analyses.
• Monitor MRO spend and look for cost-saving opportunities; support site efficiency.
