Job summary

GE Aerospace in Loves Park, IL is seeking a skilled machinist to operate and set up metalworking equipment, reading drawings and instructions to produce high‑quality parts that meet exact tolerances. You will measure parts with micrometers, calipers and gauges, verify dimensions at multiple stages, maintain 5S housekeeping, and participate in daily Lean activities with fellow team members.

Qualifications

Demonstrate strong proficiency in mill machining.
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 3 years machining experience.
Minimum of 1 year reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints.
Experience with setup and operations of CNC processes: mill, hone, grinder.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
Proficient with basic hand tools and measuring devices.

Responsibilities

Machine all types of metals.
Generate and check part dimensions with micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges.
Achieve required tolerances and finishes per standards.
Maintain safety and housekeeping in the work area.
Setup and operate equipment per drawings and method sheets.
May train operators and assist as needed.
Adhere to environmental, health and safety requirements.
Participate in daily team meetings and collaborate with team members.
