Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer to ensure metallurgical integrity across forging and heat-treatment processes at our Chicago site. You will review orders, develop processes, manage testing, and lead root-cause analyses to support product conformance for aerospace components.

The role requires 3+ years in metals/manufacturing, a BS in Metallurgy or related field, and familiarity with aerospace quality standards. On-site work in Chicago, IL.

Qualifications

• Experience in metals manufacturing, forging, or heat treatment.
• Knowledge of aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, NADCAP) is a plus.
• Strong ability to perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements, drawings, and process specs to guide metallurgical work.
• Develop and maintain metallurgical process instructions and fixed processes.
• Coordinate metallurgical testing, track results, and support QA with FAIRs/PPAPs.
• Oversee metallurgical testing (hardness, microstructure) and failure analysis.
• Lead root-cause investigations using structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Whys).
• Support audits (NADCAP, AS9100 and customer audits) and continuous improvement projects.
